In today’s competitive environment, many companies strive to stand out from the rest. Good corporate positioning starts with a suitable logo design. A logo design may be a nod to a great man in a nation’s history, a symbolism of a company’s thrust, or simply a stylized interpretation of the company name, as creatively rendered by an advertising agency (which comes at a hefty price). That most companies are willing to pay a huge price for the right graphical symbol or representation of the firm simply underscores the importance of a good logo design in the present world. Which brings us to the question on what makes a good logo design.
A logo design may be simple but has impact. It can generate product recall and create added value for a company’s business. Or McDonald’s, whose M logo in bright yellow with the brand McDonald’s emblazoned underneath never fails to entice the palates of fastfood lovers everywhere. Take away the colors and the logo remains forceful. Think Apple, too, whose iconic rainbow-striped logo design created for by an agency commissioned by Steve Jobs may have helped enhance brand recognition. That kind of logo is memorable. Many of us may be clueless about other companies’ logo designs until we read about their symbolisms on the Internet.
It does not necessarily follow, though, that only high-priced logo designs turn out to be the best. There are logo design specialists who can do a great job and show you what makes a good logo design effective, not only through its portfolio of satisfied clientele but through the extra effort it takes to know what your company stands for, while also involving key executives in the logo design process– all at a very reasonable rate.
